Employees ought to be paid extra for having their working day split up
Legal Digest \ 25.07.2018

The Russian Ministry of Labour and Social Protection announced that employees whose working day is split up ought to receive extra payment.

The Ministry believes that such working conditions deviate from standard conditions and, therefore, an employer must accrue extra payments. The company may set the amount of such extra payments at its own discretion and fix it in a collective bargaining agreement or in an internal regulation.

Employers who do not meet the above requirement face a fine of:

  • up to RUB 50,000 for a first offence;
  • up to RUB 100,000 for a repeated offence.
