The Russian Ministry of Labour is against vacations being granted only for weekends
Legal Digest \ 27.02.2019According to the Ministry of Labour, when companies grant vacations to their employees only for weekends, this is a violation of employment legislation. The Ministry has explained that fines should be imposed for such a practice. Nevertheless, the Ministry concedes that the start of a vacation can fall on a public holiday or a weekend.
A fine can be imposed for violating employment legislation as follows:
- from RUB 1,000 to RUB 5,000 for officers of companies and for individual entrepreneurs;
- from RUB 30,000 to RUB 50,000 for companies themselves.
