ACSOUR took part in investment and legal seminar

On December 4, the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) held an annual Investment and Legal online Seminar dedicated to a review of current legislative changes and prospects for the next year.

The following issues were discussed during the event:

  • Force major circumstances that arose during the pandemic (Ivan Kaysarov, Eversheds Sutherland);
  • Subsidiary liability of the controlling persons (Andrey Esmansky, JSB Egorov Puginsky Afanasiev & Partners);
  • Control over the employees’ work and the use of personal data (Artem Dmitriev, PwC Legal);
  • Corporate law (Natalia Vygovskaya, DLA Piper);
  • The 2020 state supervision reform (Anton Rudnev, KPMG Law).

Acsour senior lawyer Marina Potsabey also took part as a speaker with a topic “What to do if the CEO cannot exercise his powers” and considered situations when:

  • The CEO is on long vacation or is ill;
  • The CEO’s contract has been terminated or expired and a new CEO has not been appointed yet;
  • The extension of the CEO’s work permit causes a number of difficulties due to the epidemiological situation in the world.

Marina dwelled on each situation in detail and proposed solution to the problem, illustrating it with case studies.

Current legislative changes that took place in 2020 and the prospects for 2021 were considered and announced during the seminar with the help of speaker’s reports and live and productive discussion with the participants.
