According to the Ministry of Labour, when companies grant vacations to their employees only for weekends, this is a violation of employment legislation.
The Ministry has explained that fines should be imposed for such a practice. Nevertheless, the Ministry concedes that the start of a vacation can fall on a public holiday or a weekend.
