New amounts of child allowance

The Government of the Russian Federation has approved the indexation coefficient of child allowance in the amount of 1.03. It is necessary to start paying the increased allowance from February 1, 2020.

These changes apply in respect of those allowances that are set at a fixed amount and paid by an employer, namely:

  • allowance for registration in the early part of a pregnancy;
  • one-time allowance upon the birth of a child;
  • monthly allowance for the care of a child under 1.5 years.

The amounts of such allowances are represented in the table.

The minimum amount for the second and subsequent children is 6,751.54 rubles.   The maximum amount for the second and subsequent children is 27,984.66 rubles. A parent or a relative who is on leave to care for a child aged under 1.5 years.

Those allowances of which the amount depends on the minimum wage (its amount in 2020 is 12,130 rubles) have been automatically adjusted and began to be paid in the new way as early as January‍ 1, 2020.
