Criminal liability has been introduced for fictitious registration of foreigners at offices

A similar sanction was previously stipulated only for fictitious registration in residential premises.

An offender can be held criminally liable if he/she registers a foreign employee at the latter’s place of stay at the address of a company where such foreign employee does not actually work.

The following is stipulated as the penalty for officers

  • a fine of RUB 100,000 to RUB 500,000, or in the amount of the salary or any other income of the convicted person for a period of up to three years,
  • compulsory labour for a period of up to three years, together with disqualification from holding certain posts or being engaged in certain activity;
  • imprisonment for a period of up to three years, together with disqualification from holding certain posts or being engaged in certain activity.
